February 2019: Point of Departure
Collaboration with the Ipswich Moving Company, Ipswich, MA
Peggy Badenausen's monotypes became the inspiration for Ipswich Moving Company's latest new dances entitled, Point of Departure. Peggy began collaborating with Janet Taisey Craft, artistic director/choreographer, as they explored the relationships between dance notation, Peggy's monotypes and the Company's choreographic process. The Company created a collection of seven dances that explore the elements and structure of dance notation (Labanotation) and responded directly to the visual art images created in Peggy's monotypes. The audience had the opportunity to see the interplay between the art images and the dances throughout the performance.
